Fingerprint Sensor Will Replace Home Button

One sticking rumor says that the iPhone 8 will remove the home button on the device. If the rumor is in line with expectations, then where Apple will put his fingerprint sensor?

Some speculations also appeared and said that the sensor will be placed under the display glass. Reported by Ubergizmo, Wednesday (12/14/2016), Synaptics has recently announced that its new fingerprint sensor capable of scanning through a glass screen.

This means, the sensor will be protected from scratches. The sensor is also waterproof allowing users to operate sensors even with wet fingers. The development of this feature would be welcomed given the fingerprint sensor is not familiar with the water.

Synaptics has not been officially revealed to whom they supply these components. It is known that Apple become one of the companies that supplied Synaptics. However, the company supplies LCD display drivers, not touch the component ID. There are no official clarity whether Apple will also use new technology from Synaptics sensor.

Although they ultimately did not join, new sensor technology will be a manual Synaptics future mobile phone designs. Previously, Qualcomm first released the same technology with his own version. However, not many devices that adopt this technology.
