Official MediaTek Introduces the Helio P25 Processor, Dual Camera Support

MediaTek officially announced a new processor, Helio P25. This chipset is the successor Helio P20 and equipped with a number higher capabilities.

Helio P25 using a CPU consisting of 8x Cortex A-53 with a speed of 2.5 GHz. "Brain" is able to handle processing features dual cameras with specification 13 + 13 megapixel or 24-megapixel single camera at 24 frames per second.

In addition to support for multiple cameras, the new chipset also features noise reduction, intelligent regulation to strengthen the character of color or black-and-white photography, and depth of field effects (bokeh).

Other new capabilities, Helio P25 chipset supports 2x RAM LPDDR4X operating at 1600 MHz up to 6 GB or 1x 933 Mhz LPDDR3 up to 4 GB.

As reported by KompasTekno of GizmoChina, Friday (10/02/2017), in addition to those mentioned above, Helio P25 has the ability similar to P20.

Some of the similarities include 16 nanometer FinFET technology, Mali T880 MP2 GPU that works at a speed of 900 MHz, Cortex A53 core architecture, and support 4K video playback at 30 frames per second.

Meanwhile, the smartphone is not yet known what will be wearing Helio P25. If there are already mobile phones that use it later, most likely these devices will utilize dual camera capabilities of Helio P25.
