PC Windows 10 with "Chip" Snapdragon Glide End 2017

Still remember with Windows RT, the OS is basically Windows 8 which is intended for device based on chip ARM buata.

Despite failing to grow and only used by a handful of devices, such as Surface tablets and Lumia 2520 smartphones, Microsoft has yet to give up and intend to develop a variant of Windows 10 for ARM.

The software giant is working with Qualcomm to create an operating system that can run on devices with Snapdragon processors.

Later, in a conference call with investors, Qualcomm CEO Steve Mollenkopf revealed Windows 10 for Snapdragon is set to be ready by the end of 2017.

"Our 835 Snapdragon is developed into the realm of mobile PCs running Windows 10, scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of this year," Mollenkopf, as summarized by KompasTekno from Engadget, Sunday (4/23/2017).

Windows 10 on PC has been running on devices with x86 architecture such as Intel and AMD processors. In contrast, Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips are widely used in mobile gadgets relying on ARM architectures.

Unlike previous Windows RT, Snapdragon operating system Windows 10 will be able to run standard desktop applications.

This is because Microsoft participate immerse software emulator to handle popular Windows applications such as Microsoft Word and Adobe Photoshop.

The performance of Snapdragon-based devices will not be as high as desktop-grade processors, but the use of power is also more efficient, so it is suitable for mobile gadgets.

It is also possible that the price of Windows 10 based Snapdragon device will be cheaper than a PC or laptop.
