Since its first introduction in 2008, the Android operating system upholds the principle of openness. This has become one of the factors why Android is currently dominating the market.?
Types of Android phones are increasingly diverse with a price range that reaches all classes, from high-end to entry-level. The problem is, cheap Android phones often do not provide optimal performance.
As a result, although people are able to buy Android devices, utilization is not optimal. Based on this phenomenon Google presents a solution in the form of a new mobile operating system called "Android Go".
The main purpose of Android Go there are three, namely to bring Android phones more pocket friendly with the performance of flagship smartphone, minimize consumption of the internet by users, and presents an efficient application of memory and data.
The target market is clear, ie the community in developing countries or termed Google as "Next Billion Users".
According to Google's VP of Product Management, Sameer Samat, Android Go is possible thanks to optimization across three sectors, namely the operating system, apps, and Play Store.
