Market control was not always reflect the amount of income that is commensurate with market share figures. This
was revealed by Microsoft Indonesia president director Andreas Diantoro
the launch of Microsoft Office 365 in Jakarta, Tuesday (12/02/2012).
"The
market share of Microsoft Office productivity software to reach 97
percent in the whole world, in Indonesia were not far from that figure.
However, of that number, perhaps only 10 percent of the pay," said
Andreas, citing IDC data as of November 2012. He was referring to the high piracy that afflicts popular applications from Microsoft's.
The price factor is suspected as one of the main causes. Andrew said, the price range of USD 2 million is pegged for the package Microsoft Office overvalued by some parties.
"Now,
we provide an alternative form of Office 365 is not only affordable,
but also comes with a variety of bonuses like free phones through Skype
and SkyDrive storage space," said Andreas.
Office 365 is a suite of cloud-based productivity suite that can be used with a subscription. For the Home Premium version is intended for general consumer, the fee is Rp 729,999 per year.
License
application is valid for five sets of various types, including desktop
PCs, notebooks, tablets, and smartphones based on Windows or Mac OS.
"With
Office 365 package, hopefully later on not just the 10 percent of users
are paid (license), but more than that," said Andreas.
Added
to him, Office 365 is not a replacement for Office series "traditional"
series which has now reached 2013, but as a complement or alternative
to those in need.
"For
users who only need one license and use one device at a time, can
select the Office 2013 license valid for ever. To have many devices, can
use Office 365 with a subscription."
Office 365 can be purchased through Microsoft's online site with a credit card. This
software is also sold in retail stores Microsoft partners to
accommodate users who prefer to shop offline or do not have a credit
card. Andrew hopes to provide Office 365 in 500 stores in Indonesia within the next 3 months.
Problem adoption of cloud-based Office 365, Andreas was optimistic. Computer users Indonesia, according to him, are familiar with cloud computing-based services.
"Many have been used. Mostly not realize, but this time using the cloud, Mass in social networking," he concluded.
