7 Kick Against Facebook News "Hoax"

Social networks such as Twitter and Facebook recently got a lot of attention because many regarded disseminating false news (hoaxes).

Circulation of inconsequential information in cyberspace is crowded referred to as one of the factors behind the victory of US President-elect, Donald Trump.

In response, the founder and CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg, reiterated his party's commitment in the fight against false news or news alias fake news hoax.

"We deal with serious misinformation," Zuckerberg wrote in a posting on his Facebook account page, last weekend. "We want people to get accurate information."

In a long post it summarized KompasTekno of The Wall Street Journal, Monday (21/11/2016), Zuckerberg explained the seven steps taken up to prevent the circulation of false news.

Seven steps are:

• The detection system false news (hoaxes) are more reliable

• Simplify reporting false news

• Holding a third party in the form of fact-checking organizations to verify information

• Give a warning label or quality of a website or news content

• Featured articles related quality below the post's

• Blocking ads from third parties that are known to make and distribute false information

• Working closely with journalists to obtain input

"We did not integrate or serve ads in applications or sites containing illegal content, misleading, or deceptive," said Facebook in a statement.

Fake news is one form of misinformation circulating on Facebook.

Previously had much discussion about the fake accounts and then making up policy that users must use the original name for the account (real name policy) through the process of verifying the identity card in the form of inclusion.

After briefly running for some time, this policy is softened due to protests from certain groups that are commonly use another name for identity in cyberspace, such as transgender groups.

Facebook then allows the user to use another name, by first explaining the details and context of a situation which requires the user to wear the name in question.
