Facebook Facebook is confirmed developing a method of locking social media using the faces of its users. The method is similar to Apple's Face ID embedded in iPhone X. The feature is actually still concealed by Facebook. But social media researcher Devesh Logendran (not his real name) gets a screenshot of that facial password and pass it on to the media. As reported by KompasTekno from TechCrunch, Tuesday (3/10/2017), the screenshot was then justified its existence by Facebook itself. "We are testing some new features for account owners who want to recover their accounts, and need to verify quickly," a confirmation given one of the Facebook employees. "This additional feature is only available on devices that have been used to log in by users. This is an additional method, as a complementary two-step authentication via SMS, which can be used verify the account owner," he added. Now, Facebook is still testing various aspects of the security of these features. If indeed the account key using the face of the owner can be safe from potential hacker attacks, as well as various other threats, may be launched to the public.
