It's not just a high-resolution screen and camera with autofocus hurried LG are embedded in its new flagship smartphone, G3.
South Korean manufacturer is also planning to implement security features in the form of "anti-theft key" aka kill switch that can turn off your phone when it is stolen.
This was disclosed by Head of Product Marketing Mobile Communication Division PT. LG Electronics Indonesia Adina Nesvia, when describing the ability of LG G3 at the launch in Jakarta, Wednesday (06/18/2014).
"Users can remotely turn off the G3. Would appear the impression that it's useless because ultimately steal G3 will not be used or sold," said Adina.
According to Adina, kill switch on the G3 is not just erase the memory device, but actually makes the device can not be used at all.
This feature is intended as a sort of antidote to face the theft of smartphones is more intense. Hopefully, with the existence of the kill switch, people of bad faith failed to perform an action knowing the device (G3) loot can not be used or resold.
The form itself is not a "key" that can be touched real physical, but a web-based service that can be accessed if the user loses the device.
"This feature is the result of cooperation with McAfee. Later, users can sign up, for example by means of e-mail. Yet for the time being we do not apply the kill switch," said Adina. He did not say exactly when the LG G3 users can access this feature.
Later, when it was held, Adina hope the kill switch could at least help the user in preventing critical data residing in a smartphone in order not to fall into the hands of someone else.
"They wear it too many secrets here (smartphones)," Adina said jokingly.
