AMD announced the AMD FirePro graphics cards S9150 server, the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) for the fastest server HPC (High Performance Computing). AMD FirePro S9150 architecture-based AMD Graphics Core Next (GCN).
Through a press release received Okezone, Wednesday (08/07/2014), this server graphics card supports double precision and beyond the boundaries of 2.0 TFLOPS double precision. With 16GB of GDDR5 memory (33 percent better than its competitors), and the maximum power consumption is 235 watts, the AMD FirePro GPU S9150 server menarkan supercomputer capabilities.
"Supercomputer currently consists of a combination of GPU, CPU, and other supporting components to achieve high performance, and most of the supercomputer implemented with environmentally friendly characteristics to help reduce power consumption and water," said David Cummings, Senior Director and General Manager, Professional Graphics, AMD.
He said, AMD FirePro S9150 is designed to support large-scale multi-GPU with unparalleled performance. "AMD FirePro S9150 deliver a new era of supercomputing," he added.
Graphics cards AMD FirePro S9150 server supported software ecosystem that allows developers to take advantage of its computational capabilities better. As an additional form of AMD's OpenCL support, including support for OpenCL 2.0, which will be launched in this year.
AMD today announced a partnership with Pathscale to present the OpenMP 4.0 support for AMD FirePro S9150 and some AMD FirePro graphics cards given.
