AsiaTM Director of Corporate Sales Asia and Africa MediaTek, Arthur Wang, said MediaTek plans to launch 5G chipsets next year.
"We have developed a 5G chipset ... now it is becoming more mature, so next year we will make bigger announcements," Wang told Antaranews in Jakarta, Wednesday (25/7).

"We have developed a 5G chipset ... now it is becoming more mature, so next year we will make bigger announcements," Wang told Antaranews in Jakarta, Wednesday (25/7).
Wang explained that the 5G chipset is currently under development. MediaTek's research and development center is located at MediaTek's headquarters in Taiwan.
In addition, Wang said that Mediatek also has a research and development center in Europe and America. Unfortunately, in addition to Taiwan, research centers exist only in China.
However, Wang insists that it is not possible to establish research and development centers in other parts of Asia, including Indonesia, provided that human resources are available.
"If there is a talent we will be there for talent recruits, for example, in India we have software engineers.We see a lot of talent there.We are looking for the best talent in the world, and keep doing that," added Wang
