How to Protect Folder with Password in Windows

Desktop users have many ways to secure their PCs or laptop computers. One way that can be done is to add a password in the folder.

Either Windows or Mac OS X natively supports to add passwords to your folders in an effort to protect your files. Here's how to protect folders with passwords in Windows, especially Windows Vista to the top, as quoted from Wiki How, Friday (02/06/2017).

1. Download and install third-party compression software.
7-zip software is one of the free options available today. This guide will be based on 7-Zip usage.

2. Make Compressed Files
Select the folder you want password protected. Right-click and select 7-zip from the menu. From the second menu, select 'Add to archive ...' and this will open 7-Zip.

3. Adjust the settings
You can rename the file to be created. Select .zip from the 'Archive format' menu if you want the folder to be compatible on the system without installing 7-Zip.

Asus, HP, and Lenovo Laptops Will Be Fitted Smartphone Chip

Desktop PCs and laptops have always relied on x86 processors, such as Intel and AMD chip. As for smartphones, usually using an ARM-based processor kind of Snapdragon series chipset.

Qualcomm as the owner of Snapdragon apparently not satisfied just take part in the mobile realm. The manufacturer wants its chipset line made also used in laptop computer products.

Steps to achieve that goal have already begun. In the Computex 2017 event in Taiwan last week, Microsoft and Qualcomm announced a partnership with Asus, HP, and Lenovo PC vendors to create Snapdragon 835 based computer products running Windows 10.

The third device will be made using Snapdragon Mobile PC platform that is claimed will bring smartphone-style features such as connectivity over time, long battery life, and fanless operation to a traditional computer.

"Older computer models are no longer powerful for today's consumers. They do not want a heavy laptop and must be plugged into the wall, with a variety of frustrating accessories, "said Qualcomm Executive Vice President, Cristiano Amon.
"The Mobile PC Snapdragon platform will enable Windows 10 hardware manufacturers to build next generation devices from the form factor side," added Amon, as summarized by KompasTekno from Windows Central on Sunday (4/6/2017).

Intel Announces First "18 Core" Desktop Processor in the World

Core i7 finally retired as the most powerful desktop processor made by intel. Its role was replaced by the i9 cores that had just been released in Computex, Taiwan.

Overall there are five intel core i9 models. Each is a core i9 with 10 cores, 12 cores, 14 cores, 16 cores, and the toughest one is the 18 cores.
