Run Ubuntu from Android

Canonical, the company that developed the Ubuntu Linux operating system, introducing a new innovation called "Ubuntu for Android", on Tuesday (02/21/2012).

Innovation is a application designed to bring Ubuntu OS environment through Android smartphone. Ubuntu for Android is an application or add-on. So, OS Ubuntu is not installed in your Android smartphone.

"Ubuntu for Android" on if the new Android smartphone is plugged in a special dock. This dock will be linked to a monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Furthermore, users can use the Ubuntu OS on a desktop computer environment, without having a computer device.



So, all computing activity is powered by Android smartphone users.

With this solution, users can still run Android applications and access data.

When the smartphone was lifted from the dock, then he will go back into the Android smartphone. Ubuntu for Android concept is similar to the docking feature on the Motorola Atrix WebTop platform.

Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth wrote on Ubuntu's official blog states that this product users can access the Ubuntu OS and its popular application that has been brought in Ubuntu for Android, such as office applications, multimedia, web browsing, and email.

Ubuntu for Android is also able to use the Android smartphone connectivity, including 3G and 4G networks. This allows for Android and Ubuntu use the same kernel, namely Linux.

But keep in mind, this can only be done by Android smartphone that uses a dual-core ARM architecture. And it is not certain what kind of dock is needed for the functioning of Ubuntu on the Android smartphone.
