In Android, Opera New Faster than Chrome

Opera Software has released a browser application (browser) version of Opera Mobile 12.1 for Android on Tuesday (09/10/2012). Opera Mobile 12.1 claimed no less rapidly than Google's Chrome.

GigaOM tech website did a quick test between Opera Mobile 12.1 and Chrome version 18 with the Samsung Galaxy Note II, and using the SunSpider test applications. This application gives an overview of the performance of JavaScript in the browser. If the number is lower, the better.

As a result, Opera Mobile 12.1 scored 1094.4 milliseconds, while Chrome 18 notes 1192.1 milliseconds.

Opera has also added several other features. This application offers anti-fraud protection, and gives a warning when a user opens a web site that is considered dangerous.
