With AMD, Android Applications Can Walk to PC

AMD is taking its own steps to participate in the mobile business. The processor manufacturer on Thursday (27/09/2012) yesterday launched the AMD site AppZone Player which contains, among other typical Android applications mobile as Fruit Ninja.

Uniquely, these applications can run on a computer running Windows 7 and Windows 8 comes an AMD processor. The users can find and download Android applications through the portal is owned by AMD.

To achieve this, AMD is working with BlueStacks, a company that develops technology to run Android applications on the PC. "Our research shows that the first device owned by the consumers of the youngest, most recently, is a mobile device," said BlueStacks CEO Rosen Sharma, told VentureBeat.

"Then they get a PC and expect devices that have an application as well as on its mobile devices. This puts AMD in a good position to attract young consumers who have rapid growth."

Last June, BlueStacks have announced a partnership with Asus, but the agreement with AMD may be more helpful that startup companies. BlueStacks can now target users of Windows 8 with AMD processor-based computers, including laptops and touchscreen tablets are more suitable for running Android applications.
