Technology ' Mantle ' Push Performance PC Game

Advanced Micro Devices ( AMD ) announced the presence of technology Application Programming Interface ( API ) ' Mantle ' with the release of the AMD Catalyst 14.1 Beta for Windows . This technology allows the improvement of the quality of PC graphics .

Reported by PCMag , Monday ( 02/03/2014 ) , in addition to launching a desktop PC , the processor giant also released AMD Mobility Catalyst 14.1 Beta for Windows . Reportedly , AMD is collaborating with developers like DICE and Games Oxide technology to support these APIs .

This API allows developers to write code to take advantage of the graphics processor and reducing barriers ( bottlenecks ) in software . According to AMD , the API ' Mantle ' take advantage of the hardware architecture of the Graphics Core Next architecture ( GCN ) of modern GPU AMD Radeon maximum performance .

" The coat is functionally similar to DirectX and OpenGL , but Mantle is different in that it is made for the purpose as a lower -level API , " said AMD . The advantage is that the gamer can feel the increase in AMD 's CrossFire and support for 4K resolution .

These technologies also improve the look of the game on high settings as the game Total War : Rome 2 ( presence of flickering ) and improved texture in Call of Duty : Ghosts . The latest Catalyst software supports multiple GPUs such as Radeon R9 , R7 , HD 7000 Series , HD 8000 Series , 7000 Series APU - A10 , and the A8 - 7000 Series .
