Research company, NPD DisplaySearch revealed that smartphones with large screens or phablet, become a threat to the mini-sized tablets such as the iPad Mini.
Reported by Cnet, Thursday (10/07/2014), DisplaySearch says global tablet shipments will decline from year to year, at the start in the first quarter of 2014. "Competition between smartphone and tablet 7 5.5 inches to 7.9 inches will reduce the demand for tablet PCs by 2018, "said Hisakazu Torii, DisplaySearch analyst.
Torii revealed, the market share for tablet 7 to 7.9 inches peaked at 58 percent in 2013. However, experienced a decline in 2014 and beyond.
DisplaySearch does not mention the brand. However, the size of the 7.9-inch tablet is dominated by Apple's iPad Mini, while the 7-inch model on the Google Nexus 7 and Amazon Kindle Fire 7 HDX.
