Connecting Laptop to HDTV without HDMI

Not all laptop has an HDMI port, generally long generation laptop. If your laptop has flaws, does not have an HDMI port, then there is a way to connect your mobile computer to an HDTV.

Reported by PCWorld, Monday (02/16/2015), you can buy an adapter or a cable that will allow you connecting a laptop with a micro HDMI port to an HDTV. If there are no micro HDMI or when the laptop only has a DisplayPort, you can still connect your laptop to an HDTV by using the adapter DisplayPort / HDMI.

For your information, DisplayPort can handle digital video and audio signals such as HDMI. Search adapter or cable DisplayPort / HDMI device is not difficult and generally are priced cheap.

If your laptop is not only there are DisplayPort or DVI port, then you can use the adapter and a special cable to connect the DVI port to an HDTV. Remember, DVI has only video format, so it will not be able to carry audio.

To outsmart problem in the audio, users can use the analog audio input on your TV. Users can take advantage of the audio cable 3.5mm male-to-male to connect the sound system of the laptop to your television speakers.

If your laptop only has a VGA port, then you need to check to adjust the resolution of the laptop to an HDTV. Keep in mind, there is a difference in quality when compared to using a VGA HDMI, DisplayPort or DVI.
