Solar plane Solar Impulse 2 Ready to Cross the Pacific

Solar-powered aircraft from Switzerland landed in Chongqing, China on its journey around the world. China became the fifth goal in the mission to fly a plane without any fuel.

2 aircraft Solar Impulse has a wingspan of 72 meters, which means exceeding the width of the wing Boeing 747. 17 thousand solar cells are created to store solar energy so it can be used at night.

"Solar Impulse wants to mobilize the enthusiasm of the public who support the technology to reduce dependence on fuel and encouraging a positive response on renewable energy," wrote a statement on the official website of the Solar Impulse missions as reported by VOA News, Monday (4/5).

Two Swiss scientists, Bertrand Piccard and Andre Borschberg create this brilliant idea to process for 12 years. Those states do not want to revolutionize the lighting industry. However, want to show the existence of alternative sources that could be used for new technologies that might still be impossible to some people.

This aircraft has conducted flights to Oman, India, Myanmarr, and China. The next route is passing through the Pacific Ocean towards Hawaii.

Not only that this plane will stop also in three regions United States, Phoenix, Arizona, and New York. The end goal would be across the Atlantic Ocean as well as a stop in Southern Europe or North Africa. Late July or August is scheduled to return to Abu Dhabi.
