The phenomenon of spam messages in WhatsApp is inevitable. Users are often sent a link chain by a friend, then when opened was not in accordance with the title. Usually users are redirected to fake sites, or even sites that contain harmful viruses.
This problem has been going on for years, but it's only now WhatsApp is working on the solution. The short messaging service is currently testing a feature called "Suspicious Link Detection". As the name implies, the feature helps users detect suspicious links. When a user receives a message containing a link, WhatsApp will analyze it for later clarification as a normal link or suspicious link.
If the link is considered suspicious, the message will be marked with a red label labeled "suspicious link". Of course the decision ends up in the user, whether to keep the link open or ignore it.
WhatsApp will remind you to the user when they decide to open suspicious links. "This link contains unusual characters. Perhaps this link is trying to appear as a different site, "as it was the last warning message from WhatsApp.
Users can then choose for the last time to "open link" or "go back" (back), as compiled KompasTekno, Monday (9/7/2018), from WABetaInfo.
It should be noted, whenever WhatsApp analyzes the links you share or accept, the mechanisms work locally. No data is sent to WhatsApp server to detect suspicious characters. This feature is still continuously brewed by WhatsApp. Not yet clear when it will be released to the public.
