Excessive Gadget Lighting, Threatening the Comfort of the User's Eyes

Gadgets or other electronic devices are now not spared from human life. But despite the sophistication of pampering the user, you should be careful when using it, especially in a long time.

As is known, gadgets such as smartphones are now even almost difficult to get out of use. As a result users have the possibility for addiction.

Lighting from a smartphone or computer screen for a long time, can cause eye health problems.

In a survey conducted by ResearchNow to 8,000 people in some countries in July 2017 showed that adults spent an average of more than six hours in front of the screen. Meanwhile, more than half (56%) experienced side effects such as eye strain.

The habit of using gadgets is not in line with the knowledge of people to maintain healthy eyes. Lighting in the room itself also provides a role for users in using the gadget, because it can make the lighting more evenly.

Compared to conventional lights as a lighting tool that is widely used by the community, LED lights are considered more capable of making the eyes comfortable. Because the LED technology is considered not flashing, has adequate lighting (no glare) and emit light evenly.

Watch out, Ransomware DoubleLocker Incar Android

Researchers from the ESET security company found a ransomware that attacked the Android operating system. In addition to holding user data, a ransomware called DoubleLocker can change the device PIN.

"Changing the PIN and preventing users from accessing the device and encrypting the victim data," says researchers from ESET Lukáš Štefanko.

Just like other ransomware, the victim must grant the ransom that the hacker requested to retrieve the data.

The previous DoubleLock method is also used (malware) in the banking section. Even so, ransomware is not able to access banking services from Android-based smartphones or tablets.

DoubleLocker spreads through a fake version of Adobe Flash Player updates that are posted on certain sites. Ransomware is pretty clever. He can "seduce" the victim to activate DoubleLocker unknowingly.

Once active, ransomware will encrypt the data that is on Android smartphones. Smartphone can not be opened because protected new PIN.

How To "Crack" Break Through Security Almost All WiFi in the World

The tech world was struck by the invention of Mathy Vanhoef. The Belgian security researcher from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven last weekend publicized the findings of a security hole that could break into a Wi-Fi wireless internet network, although it protected the W-Fi Protected Access II (WPA2) security protocol.

Named the key re-installation attack aka "Krack", this security gap can be used to tap various kinds of information sent by the client device to the internet via Wi-Fi network.

"This can be used to steal sensitive data such as credit card numbers, passwords, chat messages, emails, photos, and more," said researcher Mathy Vanhoef in the site devoted to the source of information about Kracks.

The Krack impact scale is enormous, as it includes all electronic devices that have Wi-Fi capability with WPA2. The number of millions, if not billions, ranging from handheld devices, computers, to a smart refrigerator.

"This weakness exists in the WI-Fi standard itself, not in specific products or implementations individually, so any WPA2 implementation must be affected," Vanhoef continued.

Watch Out! Wi-Fi Can Be Used to Hijack Media Computer Systems

The researcher reveals a new discovery called KRACK, which exploits a Wi-Fi security vulnerability in order for Hackers to tap traffic between computers and wireless access points. The discovery, as first reported by Ars Technica, utilizes several key management vulnerabilities in the WPA2 security protocol, a popular authentication scheme used to protect private and corporate Wi-Fi networks.

"If your device supports Wi-Fi, it will most likely be affected," said the researcher, citing The Verge, Monday (16/10).

In fact, the US Computer Emergency Preparedness Team issued a warning in response to this remarkable discovery that says US-CERT has been aware of some key management vulnerabilities in the 4-way handshake system of the Wi-Fi Protected Access II (WPA2) security protocol. The impact of exploiting this vulnerability includes decryption, packet replay, TCP connection hijacking, HTTP content injection, and more. Note that as a protocol level issue, most or all of the correct implementation of the standard will be affected. CERT / CC and the investigator of KU Leuven, will publicly disclose this vulnerability.
