Five Bluetooth Myths that Are Still Trusted

Bluetooth is one of the preferred technologies for connecting two devices wirelessly. Over the years, the development of Bluetooth has become better. However, unfortunately some old school myths about Bluetooth still survive.

Quoted in Make Use Of, Bluetooth is now different from last year's Bluetooth. Here are the most common misconceptions that people still believe.

Enabling Bluetooth consumes the battery

At the beginning of the development of smartphones, yes, activating Bluetooth can cause a decrease in your battery life. That's because once the connection is active, Bluetooth will actively search for devices to pair at any time.

But now you don't need to worry about that. With the new Bluetooth standard starting with version 4 and so on, there is something called the Low Energy (LE) module. The LE module uses various technologies to search for Bluetooth devices around you without using the same power as previous versions of Bluetooth.

Likewise after a connection is made, the LE device will not draw large power when data is not transferred. For example, if you have connected your smartphone with a pair of Bluetooth headphones, it will not use power when you are not playing songs.

Cellphone users who work a lot outdoors may feel very helped by fast charging technology that is now commonly found on large power phones.

So why is fast charging turned off?

Laman Phone Arena explains, charging a battery with fast charging does not immediately damage the cellphone, for example the cellphone becomes hot and then explodes. The impact of fast charging to the battery may be felt for a long time.

When charging with fast charging, the power needed to deliver electricity to the device is enlarged so that the charging time can be reduced. In the long run it will affect the cellphone hardware.

Moreover, if charging is done while playing games or applications, or the mobile is placed in a high-temperature room. In addition, there are also cellphone users who are accustomed to charging cellphones overnight because they are asleep, so maybe the fast charging feature is turned off if it is not needed.

Check cellphone settings

Some cellphone manufacturers provide fast charging features to be turned on or off. Usually, they put these settings in the "Battery" menu, then look for the "fast charging", "quick charge" or name chosen by each manufacturer for fast chargers.
