Artificial intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer futuristic science fiction, but has become a reality in our daily lives. The VOA journalist Jesusemen Oni highlights how this computer-based intelligence affects our lives and the possibility of changing our future.
AI has even changed part of our way of life. Artificial intelligence influences the way we travel, what we browse on the internet, even what we eat.
But this rapidly evolving technology raises a number of fundamental questions, said Microsoft's chief legal officer, Brad Smith.
"It's the same with no people and no government and no company that is above the law. There is no technology that is above the law. I think we must create ethical principles and ultimately the Law, so that people can decide how this technology is used, "he said.
With algorithms that threaten to go beyond the level of human intelligence, artificial intelligence has been deployed to fight terrorism, global hunger and in the medical arena.
"Many recent advances in immunotherapy, for example in the world of cancer treatment have actually developed thanks to artificial intelligence and there are many reasons to believe that it will continue and accelerate," Smith said.
