Answering Future Data Challenges with AI

Artificial Intelligence or Artificial Intelligence (AI). AI is a leading science in information technology. AI is the key to a digital future capable of answering all the complex data challenges. Understanding of AI can support the careers of young generation to the world stage.

Looking at these opportunities, BINUS University collaborated with NVIDIA and Kinetica founded AI Research and Development Center for Indonesia. This AI R & D CENTER is the first and only one in Indonesia. AI is a leading science in information technology. A deep understanding of AI is expected to support the younger generation's career to the international stage.

Binus University in collaboration with NVIDIA and Kinetica brought this opportunity in establishing AI Research and Development Center for Indonesia. Kolabarasi is believed to be more supportive aspirations of BINUS UNIVERSITY, because this AI R & D CENTER is the first and only one in Indonesia.

"As an institution of higher education, it is important to collaborate with related industries to achieve our goal of becoming a world class university," said Bina Nusantara CEO Ir. Bernard Gunawan through his written statement on the sidelines of the launch of AI R & D CENTER Monday (28/8).

Students Discover Freon's Substitute from Waste

Students of Faculty of Engineering Universitas Brawijaya (FTUB) Malang managed to find a replacement of freon from waste. The study was conducted because of the related removal of freon in 2030 later. Freon should be eliminated in 2030 because of global warming due to the rapidly increasing freon use of air conditioning.

"Well, that's why we wanted to create a freon-free air conditioning in order to reduce global warming with our tools," said the coordinator of the research team, Lovely Sakina to Republika.co.id, Thursday (24/8).

They use fly ash as a freon replacement. Fly ash is a waste generated from the operation of Steam Power Plant (PLTU). As is known, so far the need for electricity increases every year. PLTU still uses coal as a known source of processing by using the combustion process. The combustion process produces side wastes such as fly ash which can cause problems for the environment and health.

Fly ash apparently has a silica content with a fairly large percentage. According to him, these findings have the potential to be developed into high-value products. The huge potential of this also sparked the team SIROGEL of the Department of Chemical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Brawijaya (FT-UB) to conduct research with the title "Use of Polyethylene Glycol as a template in the synthesis of silica airgel from Abu Fly (Fly Ash) Coal for Applications Solid sorption Refrigeration ".

Terrible Men Almost Wrong while Recording Lightning

A man in Norway got a terrible experience while recording a thunderstorm from his front door. At that moment a lightning strike fell right and baked the other side of the yard, just a few meters from where he stood.

The video recorded by a man named Daniel Modol did not show the lightning strike that occurred. But in it can be seen clearly the condition of thunderstorms, sounds when lightning fell, and the consequences caused by the lightning.

As reported by KompasTekno from Pixel Map, Sunday (27/08/2017), in the recordings that Daniel obtained was seen dust and soil scattered in the air. While the other side of the page which is approximately 6 meters from its position, looks devastated and charred.

Fortunately, the man was just surprised when the lightning strike occurred. Dai was lucky because he was not hit or affected by the lightning that fell very close to him.
