An institute in China successfully developed a chip camera with a CCD (charge-coupled device) 100-megapixel camera.
It is the highest berpiksel camera China today, says the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in a statement as quoted by Xinhua news agency on Wednesday (10/7).
The camera, IOE3-Kanban, developed by the Institute of Optics and Electronics under CAS and can produce images in a 10,240 x 10,240 pixels.
Is small and lightweight, with the longest measuring only 19.3 cm, CAS said, adding that the device can be used in temperatures of minus 20 degrees Celsius cold or hot weather temperature of 55 degrees Celsius.
Sentivity and high-featured high dynamic range (HDR), which means it can be used for high-resolution pencintraan in the field of aerial mapping, urban planning, disaster monitoring, and intelligent transportation systems.
IOE3-Kanban system equipped with advanced optics, camera control systems, and high-capacity data recording system, also have proven ability in the last trial as part of a remote-sensing system of national air.
In addition to the device, CAS also developed a 81-megapixel camera during the period of the 10th Five Year Plan (2001-2005), and the final phase will take two years for researchers to make.
