Canon EOS 70D, Camera "Dream" Videographer

Canon has officially announced the EOS 70D DSLR camera. Successor to the EOS 60D DSLR camera brings a number of improvements focused on video capabilities.

In addition to 3-inch swivel screen with touchscreen capability, the camera is equipped with a new focus sensor type "Pixel CMOS Dual AF" which is claimed by Canon is able to perform autofocus in live-view mode to 5x faster than previous technology.

The sensor also gives EOS 70D ability to do continuous autofocus while recording video (movie servo AF) with fast and smooth, as shown in the demonstration video below. Substitution focus is done by touching different areas on the LCD.
 

EOS 70D also brings a variety of new features aimed at the application of photography, including new sensor with 20.2 megapixel resolution and sensitivity level of ISO 100-12800, 7 FPS burst rate, DIGIC 5 + image processors, to built-in WiFi. This camera can also be controlled via mobile devices, such as smartphones or tablets.
 
Canon also renew phase detect AF system of the EOS 70D is now carrying the sensor with 19 focus points (all of the types of cross type) such as the EOS 7D. This system allows the AF point selected one by one, in a small group, or automatically. The EOS 70D has a viewfinder magnification of 0.95 x and coverage of 98 percent of the image area.

The camera is scheduled to begin to enter into the market in September. The price is pegged at U.S. dollars 1,199 points or approximately USD 12 million for a body only version, 1,349 U.S. dollars, or approximately USD 13.5 million for the lens kit with the EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM, and 1,549 dollars, or approximately USD 15.5 million for the kit with lens EF-S 18-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS STM.
