Google Develops Contact Lenses for the Blind

Google re- filed a patent for a technology that is embedded in a contact lens .
This time, Google filed a patent embedding microscopic camera on a contact lens . This microscopic camera allows users to take photos directly from sight, reported by the Telegraph ( 15/4 ) .

According to Patent Bolt , through this patent users can control the camera through the system that uses blinking patterns of its owner .

Each lens is designed from a small camera and sensor components are programmed to detect light , color , specific objects , faces and movements without blocking its view .

This device is said to be used for blind persons . Cameras and components anlisisnya will process the image data and sends it to the user , for example detecting a busy street .

The lens will then give a command to a small device that generates sound on the road in front of him .

Earlier this year , Google had unveiled a prototype contact lens developed to monitor glucose levels in diabetics tears .

The lens uses a very small glucose sensor and wireless transmitter

" We 're testing a smart contact lens that we have built to measure glucose levels in tears using wireless chips and miniature glucose sensor , " Google X project leader for smart contact lenses , Brian Otis .

A device that looks like a regular contact lens contains two beams glitter - laden spots with tens of thousands of transistors and antenna surrounded by thin hair .

" We have to work very hard to develop it into a small , small electric -powered energy to operate a low level and a small glucose sensor , " Otis at Google's headquarters in Silicon Valley . N Niken Paramita
