Solar Technology Developed for Internet Access

Some researchers from the University of Edinburgh have developed a technology that allows the solar panel detects the broadband signal and enables Internet access is solar powered .

The technology allows the data sent on the World Wide Web by using sunlight , and , in addition, solar energy can be harnessed to provide energy for such equipment , as well as detect and deliver the data , the University of Edinburgh said in a statement on Thursday ( 10 / 4 ) .

It can enable wireless communications in remote areas are adequate , in the developing regions that do not have a web infrastructure , or in an emergency , the statement said , as reported by Xinhua - in Jakarta , Thursday ( 10/4 ) night .

The prototype system has reached about seven Mbps transmission speed , which is equal to the maximum speed of a conventional wireless network , he added .

The study was initiated in Li - Fi technology pioneer Edinburgh team - which allows data to be sent over the Internet by using LED lights .

" Li - Fi could make a solar -powered Internet access may be obtained in far away places , and open up all kinds of possibilities for wireless communication reaching , " says Prof. Harald Haas from the University of Edinbrugh .
