Cisco and Red Hat The "Sticky" in OpenStack

Cisco and Red Hat announced an integrated infrastructure solution for the installation of OpenStack-based cloud. The two companies also announced the expansion of relationships, enhance collaboration around OpenStack, Application Centric Infrastructure, and Intercloud.

As noted in a written statement on Tuesday (09/09/2014), the Cisco UCS Integrated Infrastructure for Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform (UCSO) will combine Cisco Unified Computing (UCS), Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack platform.

"Because the cloud industry pivots on open source technology, Cisco and Red Hat expands relationships and increase collaboration around OpenStack, Infrastructure and Application Centric Intercloud," said Padmasree Warrior, chief technology and strategy officer of Cisco.

UCSO solution that will be offered in three variants: Starter Edition, Advanced Edition and Advanced Edition ACI. Starter Edition is expected to be generally available UCSO the end of 2014.

Red Hat and Cisco are collaborating around OpenShift, a platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) from Red Hat, and storage technologies, including Ceph.
