LG Wine Smart, Android Fold for Parents

Mobile models of folding (clamshell) that was popular a few years ago now being revived by LG. South Korean company introduced a "flip phone" Android, the LG Wine Smart, Sunday (21/09/2014).

LG Smart Wine is designed for middle-class users and parents who are still unfamiliar with the numerical model of a physical keyboard, navigation buttons for directions, menu, home, back, and a camera.

Interestingly, there is a feature "Safe Keeper" function to send an emergency message to a telephone number or a number of other close relatives were selected. This feature is automatically activated when the Smart Wine is not used within a certain timeframe. Emergency information is sent, among others, the current position of the phone or when last used.

Other physical buttons found on LG Smart Wine is a special key to access the instant messaging service KakaoTalk. As quoted from AndroidCommunity, KakaoTalk very popular in South Korea and is widely used even by the parents.

The combination of the flip model, features an emergency message, and a special key made ​​Wine Smart KakaoTalk really focus on the user to use among the elderly.

From the hardware side, the LG Wine Smart uses a quad-core processor 1.2 GHz, 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal memory which can be expanded via the SD card.

Smart Wine screen measuring 3.5 inches with a resolution of 480x320. Although the shape of the fold, the Smart Wine still equipped with two cameras, 8 MP rear and VGA front. 1700 mAh battery of this Kitkat Android phone can be removed and replaced easily.

LG Wine Smart will first be available in the South Korean market from 26 September. The company has not revealed the information about the price and availability in the global market, including Indonesia.
