Intel Launches Core M Processor Series

First disclosed its existence in early June, a series of mobile processors Core M finally launched by Intel.

Core M is part of a new family of processors named Broadwell manufactured using 14 nm manufacturing technology so that more power efficient than previous generations, Haswell.

There are two models M Core processors launched by Intel, the Core M 5Y10 / 5Y10a at speeds up to 2 GHz and Core M 5Y70 a higher performance with a speed of 2.6 GHz.

Seebagaimana quoted from ZDNet, the two processor models are intended for portable computer category "2-in-1" m or tablet that can transform into a laptop and vice versa.

Computer models of the plan will be available in October from the manufacturers Intel partners such as Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Asus.

14 nm manufacturing technology "shrink" the physical size of the M-Core processor, up to 50 percent smaller and 30 percent thinner than previous series processors so that the size of the computers using the chip could also be diminished.

Intel claims that the computer Core M can have a thickness of only 9 mm, in addition to not using the processor cooling fan because it also has a low operating temperature.

Low temperature, among others, made possible by the power consumption of Core M mentioned hnya the range of 4.5 watts, less than half of the Haswell processor series ranging in 11.5 watts.

"Side effects" of low power consumption adalalah increase battery life of the computer that is using Core M, ie, up to 20 percent longer than similar products proudk-current.
