Card "UFS" World's First 5 Times More Toned of MicroSD

After microSD, storage media what else will arise? Samsung seems to have an answer, which is a new type of memory card called Universal Flash Storage (UFS).

UFS 1.0 Extension Card is a storage standard defined by the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC).

As summarized KompasTekno from The Verge, Monday (07/11/2016), Samsung products over the first UFS memory card in the world.

The size of the memory card with microSD UFS equally tiny, but has a data transfer rate that is much higher.

Samsung claims bikinannya UFS memory card capable of reading data at speeds up to 530 megabytes per second (Mbps) or 5 times faster than microSD.

Data write speed of "only" 170 megabytes per second, but even then claimed Samsung two times faster than even the fastest microSD current.

"With these performance improvements, cards UFS 256 GB Beru could significantly reduce the download time multimedia data, thumbnail images, and buffer clearing time (DSLR)," said Samsung in an announcement page.

In addition to the 256 GB variant, UFS Samsung memory cards are available in a choice of 126 GB capacity, 64 GB, and 32 GB.

Samsung said the UFS memory card suitable for a variety of multimedia devices that record a lot of high-resolution photos or video, such as drones, DSLR, until the camera VR.

However, it should be added that there is still no devices that support UFS interface so that the high-speed memory is presumably not be felt in the near future.

Samsung has not announced a schedule for the availability or price of the product besutannya UFS memory card.
