Officially, Android N bears the name "Nougat"

Google announced the official name for the new operating system, Android N. name that will be bears are "Nougat".

Nougat was introduced by Google Android through official Snapchat accounts of the company, on Friday (07/01/2016). Android's official Twitter account also made sure by posting Tweeted on the same day.

Android Nougat become the latest Android version once introduced last March and the current status is the second Beta claimed to be more stable than the inaugural version, as quoted KompasTekno of The Verge. However, it is unclear which version number carried by Nougat, could be Android 6.1 or Android 7.0.

Marshmallow Nougat as the successor to Android brings new features such as notification display, the screen split-screen multitasking when used, as well as features that have been introduced in Doze Android version Marshmallow yet been upgraded.

Nougat Android platform also has support for the latest virtual relaity Google, but only for devices that support only.

Previously, a lot of rumors circulating related naming of this latest Android operating system, ranging from the New York Cheesecake, Nutella, until Nepayem. (Read: Name Search Android N-Treated Satire)

Google even to hold a special contest for feedback idea what name will be used by Android N. Finally, Google decided to use the name Nougat.

Nougat is a sweet snack made of sugar, honey, baked beans, egg white, and sometimes accompanied by dried fruits.

As is known, the names of the official Android itself has always been associated with a light meal or sweet snacks. Namely Cupcake (1.5), Donut (1.6), Éclair (2.0-2.1), Froyo (2.2-2.2.3), Gingerbread (2.3-2.3.7), Honeycomb (3.0-3.2.6), Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0 -4.0.4), Jelly Bean (4.1-4.3), KitKat (4.4), Lollipop (5.0), and Marshmallow (6.0).
