Video Call and Anti-Bullying So New Features Instagram

Instagram increasingly beautify themselves by displaying various new features. Launched from Tech Radar, Wednesday (2/5), one of the changes made to this photo sharing platform is video calling, Augmented Reality (AR) filters and new designs on the Explores page.

The anti-bullying feature in the comments section has also been applied. Social media released in October 2010 will open the possibility to integrate itself into more applications through stories, such as Spotify and GoPro.

The addition of Spotify will allow users to share playlists, songs or albums with other users either through stories or Instagram direct messages. GoPro integration is also simple, users only need to select a clip in GoPro app and share it to stories. Previously, they could edit the video they wanted to share.

To take advantage of such integration features, users do not need to link Instagram accounts to Spotify or GoPro apps. Users can share locally on devices via the Instagram app.

With AR Studio from Facebook, Instagram builds custom filters for its own platform. Not only for the front camera, the filter also applies to the rear camera. Means, Instagram users can apply face filters for swafoto and world effects on other photos.

This AR filter is already used by a number of influencers such as Ariana Grande and Vogue. Users can directly try it from the story and add it to the camera.

Instagram also takes a strong stance on bullying by adding filters to offensive comments. The filters will identify comments about appearance or that are threatening to be removed. The anti-spyware filter is activated immediately after the application is updated, but can also be turned off via Comment Controls.

In addition, the long rumored video chat feature has now been confirmed. This feature allows up to four Instagram users to connect at a time.
