A number of technology companies now offer digital assistant technology based on artificial intelligence (AI), such as Apple Siri, Cortana from Microsoft, and Alexa-made e-commerce Amazon.
Nokia seems to not want to miss in this affair. Networking division of the former legendary handset manufacturer was later known to have filed a trademark for a similar technology called "Viki".
Documents trademark application mentions that Viki is a "digital assistant with the knowledge that is able to combine all data sources in a single chat and voice-based interface".
Participate mentioned that Viki will be used in mobile devices and networking sites, as summarized KompasTekno from Engadget, Thursday (01/12/2017).
In addition to the above information, not much is known about Viki. A spokesman acknowledged that it was filed trademark applications on Viki, but tight-lipped when questioned further.
"We do not comment on the likelihood or time of use in a Nokia product or service," said the spokesman.
From the description, it is likely Viki will be following in the footsteps of his friends fellow digital assistant, in terms of providing digital services through a voice interface based AI.
There is also the possibility that Viki will appear on the new Android phones Nokia is now beginning to emerge, as marked by the announcement of the Nokia 6 in China a few days ago.
