YouTube has added a feature to enlarge an image or video with the pinch-to-zoom feature. With a pinching motion (swipe your thumb and forefinger) outwards, YouTube viewers on your smartphone can zoom in.
The pinch movements are similar to movements such as when to enlarge an image in a gallery or photo that appears in an Instagram feed.
Unfortunately, this new feature can be used in smartphones with screens that have aspect ratio larger than 16: 9.
As is known, the latest smartphone-series smartphone is now carrying a wider aspect ratio of the screen, such as the iPhone X and Galaxy S8 with 18.5: 9 screen ratio.
Pinch feature to zoom this view comes in update or update YouTube version 12.44 which was released on 15 November.
Please note, when zooming or enlarging the video being watched, then the sides of the video will be cut off.
