Samsung Develops Internet 5G

Samsung is developing a data connection (internet) wireless fifth-generation (5G) which will be brought to consumers by 2020. Samsung has been testing 5G technology and managed to reach a speed of 1 gigabit per second (Gbps) to download.

5G internet connection claimed that Samsung developed to perform data transmission "hundreds of times faster" than current LTE 4G connectivity. If the 5G later commercialized, then the user can use it to send files with huge data consumption, including ultra high definitions movies (UHD). "It is practically without limit," wrote the Samsung.

In this technology, Samsung claims to have found a way to make use of millimeter wave (millimeter-wave) in the radio frequency spectrum. During this time, the use of millimeter wave bands for wireless internet fairly minimal due to the limited range of bands.

In particular, the South Korean company's transceiver technology that combines the use of 64 radio antennas to amplify the signal and increase the range. Thus, the connection speed that can be achieved within reach 1,056 Gbps up to 2 km.

"Millimeter wave band is the most effective solution for the latest surge in the use of the wireless Internet," said Chang Yeong Kim, Vice President and Head of Digital Medial and Communication Research and Development Samsung, as quoted from TechCrunch, Monday (05/13/2013).

Samsung is not the only company that develops technology 5G. Then in February 2013, mobile operator NTT DoCoMo of Japan successfully tested a wireless internet connection at speeds up to 10 Gbps.
