Used Smartphone Can cite Special Sensor

Android-based phones that have been unused usually just sitting useless in a drawer. However, this time a team from Carnegie Mellon University has created a program that can utilize the old Android smartphone into a tracking device or sensor.

As reported by Engadget, Thursday (04/23/2015), a program named Zensors that using a smartphone camera that connects to track the state of the environment. Zensors program will allow the camera smartphone users answered questions about the state of the environment.

One of the tasks that can be performed Android smartphone unused, among other things, is able to count the number of cars in the parking lot, as well as detecting cars that enter and exit the parking lot. Although able to perform tasks like CCTV cameras, Zensors technology still has many shortcomings.

The ability to detect the amount and calculation can be performed by former Android smartphone that features Zensors still limited because it only uses crowd-sourced technology and logarithms. Even so, the researchers hope to feature Zensors detection system will continue to evolve so that they can be used to do a difficult job done man.

Until now Zensor still beta testing. But later if really been exploited, Zensors expected to be a monitoring tool and detection of human environment that can be used easily.
