Know UltraPixel in HTC One Camera

Smart phone manufacturer HTC has introduced its flagship product named HTC One, Tuesday (01/19/2013). The one that attracted the attention of this phone is the camera feature.
One camera on the HTC specifications written statement sensor 4 mega pixel (MP). Perhaps any of you who immediately frowned in surprise, "How can a flagship mobile phone equipped with a 4MP camera?" Wait a minute, was behind the statement 4MP no frills "UltraPixel." Maybe this one intrigued you.
UltraPixel is not a unit of account. Valid only if you consider UltraPixel just mere marketing term, as well as the terms used PureView Nokia. But clearly, there are technical issues that made HTC unusual in their camera technology.

HTC Camera One uses a single 4.3 megapixel sensor. Do not always assume that the sensor is far behind the 13 megapixel camera on the Sony Xperia Z, or the 41MP camera on the Nokia 808 PureView.
In the technology of digital photography, there is a term the number of pixels and pixel size. Parties HTC opinion, the most important thing for them is not the number of pixels.
HTC's vice president of design, Scott Croyle said, so far consumers have been misled on the importance of the number of pixels in the camera, which gives information 5MP, 8MP, or 12MP.
HTC assess the pixel size is much more important. Pixel size is the actual physical dimensions of the light receptor (photo diode) in the camera sensor. Sensors in the HTC One enlarged to the physical size of 1/3 inches with a pixel size of 4 micro meters (2 micro meters x 2 micro meters).
HTC One pixel size approximately twice larger than normal pixel size is in other smart phones, even the iPhone 5 classmates and Lumia 920. It's not an easy job, because HTC has to raise the size of the pixels in the center of the smart phone is thin and narrow.
Is the larger pixel sizes affect the image quality?
The larger the physical size of the pixel, made of light captured by the camera will be more. It also allows the camera to capture brighter images in low light locations. HTC claims the pixel size on the HTC One can collect 300 percent more light than the size of the pixels on other phones.
In short, HTC One offers image quality equivalent to the camera is "real." Unfortunately, due to limited size of the sensor in a smart phone, HTC could only enter the number of pixels of 4.3 MP.
From the side of the lens, HTC One autofocus lenses with a focal length of 28mm (35mm equivalent) with f/2.0 aperture. Aperture is larger than f/2.4 used iPhone 5 and Lumia 920.
In addition, the camera on the HTC One is also equipped with optical image stabilization, which serves to absorb shocks when you're photographing or recording video. This camera can record 1080p HD video resolution and 60fps.
As for the front camera, HTC One is equipped with 2.1 MP sensor with a wide-angle lens is also capable of recording 1080p video resolution.
By carrying out the terms UltraPixel, HTC trying to make sure that the number of pixels is not everything to see the quality of the camera phone. Pixel size should also be considered. In recent years, it appears that HTC will continue to use this term as an attraction UltraPixel on camera.
