Google registers patents for drag and drop mechanisms, often termed drag and drop on mobile devices. Usually, drag and drop is more familiar on a laptop or certain functions in the Android operating system.
The simplest way is to group apps into specific folders on Android phones, users can drag the app and put it into a folder with drag and drop earlier.
However, Google's patents accommodate deeper drag and drop functionality. Judging from the illustrations, users can move text, images, and other files on the phone.
Furthermore, the content transferred not only in one particular application but can also inter-application, as reported PhoneArena and compiled KompasTekno, Friday (28/04/2017).
For example when a user selects a particular photo in the mobile gallery. Users can drag and move to a photo editing app, chat, or other service that accepts the image format.
So it is with text. Users can block chat text, then pull it out of the chat app and put it directly in the word translator application or search engine.
If this patent is realized, users can certainly be more productive in trying out Android phones. No more pressing options for editing photos, copying texts, or transferring files.
However, keep in mind that technology patents often hint at the plans and ideals of a vendor. Patents can be realized if possible, but can also end up as a mere patent.
Google itself has not mengumbar whether the drag and drop patents on this mobile device will be realized or not. It is not clear that the implementation will be done the first time and on what mobile devices. Let's wait.
