Instagram has secretly added new features to improve user convenience while shopping online. Launched from TechCrunch today (4/5), this photo sharing platform now allows registration of debit or credit cards to be entered into a user profile. The registration comes with a security PIN.
As such, online shopping payments can now be made without leaving the Instagram page. Instagram spokeswoman confirmed it had added new features. Users can reserve and pay for restaurant or salon subscription via Instagram account. However, this payment feature is only available to certain partners in the United States and United Kingdom.
One account that already allows online payment via Instagram is a reservation application Resy. Instagram convinces in the future the payment feature will be further developed including to buy cinema tickets. Instagram is not the only social media that glance at the great opportunities of e-commerce. In February, Snapchat first tested direct payments via their platform.
Previously since 2016 Instagram has released a tagging feature that can be used to mark stores or commercial products. In the location feature, the user can enter the name of the product being advertised. When another user clicks on the tagging, it will be directed to the corresponding product account.
Instagram does not provide a feature that can put a link (link) on the caption or photo caption. This is done so that users can be more comfortable viewing his line without disturbed other links.
