Typically, a watermark of images, logos, or transparent words are included in a photo. However, this practice is still vulnerable to copyright infringement. The reason, there is still a way that can be taken to remove the watermark.
Google has also created a computer program or Artificial Intelligence (AI) that can remove watermarks, especially for a collection or photo collection. This program is claimed to be able to help photographers, photography community, and stock photo service providers to be able to protect the copyright of their works by knowing the vulnerability level of the watermarking practice.
'' It is quite difficult to remove the watermark from one photo. But for a set of photos, there is a consistent pattern that is applied, and it can be solved and removed, '' wrote a paper from Google presented at the event Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Conference, as quoted by the Daily Mail, Monday (21/8) WIB.
The program, further explanation in the paper, can reduce the opacity level and display photos that previously had a watermark mark. The program will recognize a set of photos that have the same watermark mark.
