Nuance
Coomunications Inc., today (31/01/2012) announces that applications
Dragon Search and Dragon Dictation supports Indonesian language.
Two applications that rely on this phone user's voice, at first glance is similar to Siri features developed by Apple Inc.. What is the difference?
"The
concept is similar, because it uses sound, but our applications (Dragon
Search and Dragon Dictation) could not interact with mobile users like
Siri. You like having a personal assistant if using Siri. There is
interaction that makes you have to immediately respond to the question.
While the application we,
relying on your voice recording, and then write the text to your
greeting, "explained Stuart Sharpe, Senior Director Asia Pacific, Sales
Engineering Inc. Nuance Coomunications, during a press conference at the
Four Season Hotel, Jakarta, Tuesday (31/01/2011).
However, according to Sharpe, Siri has limitations in the use of language. Siri can only do the commands in English native speakers, especially the British Classic.
Some dialects of English that is somewhat "slengek's" somewhat difficult to detect. Perhaps this is why many iPhone users have difficulty using Siri.
While the Dragon Search and Dragon Dictation can support dozens of languages, not just English. Choice of language can also be customized as needed.
"Only, you must be where the noise was a bit, so that our applications can understand your voice properly," added Sharpe.
Another
thing that distinguishes applications and Dragon Search Dragon
Dictation with Dragon Siri is that applications can be used everywhere
to search the site.
If
you are looking for a bookstore or a cafe located in Jakarta, but you
look it up in Los Angeles, then Siri will not be able to give an answer
because you're not in Jakarta.
But
if you use Dragon Search, you still get location information bookstores
and cafes are located in Jakarta, even though you're in Los Angeles.
"I
do not intend to comment on products made by Apple, but if the question
of what difference Siri with the Dragon Search and Dragon Dictation,
then you've found the answer," lid Sharpe.
