Microsoft Prepares "Browser" Immune Malware

Internet browsers aka browsers are often manipulated to become gateways for various malicious programs to infect a user's computer.

Therefore, Microsoft reportedly is trying to develop a browser that is able to ward off malware attacks. Software that is a variant Edge browser for Windows 10 is equipped with a new feature called Windows Defender Application Guard.

How it works, Application Guard separates itself from the computer's operating system environment by creating and running on virtual PC (sandboxing).

In this way, the browser is isolated from other components such as storage, other applications, and Windows 10 so that can not be diomplared by Malware to infect the computer.

Other browsers are also some that offer sandboxing options. However, Microsoft says that the Application Guard has a unique hardware container that is really capable of preventing malware infiltration.

There are some shortcomings of running the Edge technique in a virtual machine, as performance tends to be slower. All data and cookies will not be saved after the user has finished surfing the internet and close the browser.

For now the "safe" Edge browser with the new Application Guard is available in the latest version of Windows 10 Insider Preview for Enterprises version, as summarized by KompasTekno from Engadget, Thursday (5/11/2017).

In addition to Application Guard, Windows 10 Insider Preivew includes PDF reader for Microsoft Edge and integrated Cortana digital assistant settings.
