WhatsApp Are Testing Features of "Group Voice Call" and "Group Video Call"

After landing a group call feature in Messenger, Facebook is likely to do the same to the other "child," WhatsApp.

WhatsApp is reportedly testing the group voice call and group video call features in WhatsApp beta format version 2.18.39.

These experiments are being tested first on WhatsApp Android and will likely be overtaken by iOS.

The group voice call feature will accommodate a maximum of four participants including the first caller, while the group video call only accommodates a maximum of 3 participants including the first caller. The number of participants is still far less than Facebook Messenger.

In Facebook Messenger, group voice calls can accommodate a maximum of 50 participants, and a maximum of six participants for the group video call.

This feature has actually been hiding in WhatsApp beta version 2.17.437. For users who missed the quota to test the feature will get a warning that read "Can not make voice and video calls because this feature is not available in group call".

This feature is still in internal development, because that's WhatsApp caution its users to be patient because there is this feature is not priority WhatsApp in this year.

WhatsApp is also rumored to be adding features that integrate stickers like in Facebook Messenger. This feature is being tested in WhatsApp beta version 2.18.32 for Android named Stickers Pack.

On the right-hand corner of the sticker column will appear a plus icon (+) to open the selection of stickers that are ready to download. This feature is similar to a sticker on the Line, so users must download the sticker first before sending it.

WhatsApp being a golden boy Facebook today. WhatsApp users have reportedly surpassed Instagram and Messenger in the fourth quarter of 2017. In that period recorded WhatsApp users reached 1.5 billion with 60 billion messages sent every day.
