Mozilla Launches Firefox Reality

Mozilla browser developer recently released Firefox Reality, a web browser application that presents a 3D experience designed for virtual headsets and augmented reality devices. This application they have developed since the beginning of this year.

Mozilla in its official statement on Wednesday morning (19/9), said the Firefox Reality application that was available in the Viveport, Oculus, and Daydream application stores enabled users to get 3D web content experience in the browser, with the help of virtual reality (VR) devices.

As people question the impact of technology on their lives and see leadership from independent organizations such as Mozilla, Firefox Reality brings to 3D web and in-depth content at a level that is easier to use, there are choices, controls, and user privacy.

"We built Firefox Reality to move seamlessly between 2D and immersive web," Mozilla and the Mixed Reality Team at Mozilla developed research to find out how to design browsers for virtual reality.

Mozilla also rethinks navigation, text input, environment, search, and more. This requires years of research and countless conversations with users, content creators and hardware partners.

"This makes a big difference, and we think you will like all the features and details we made specifically for the VR browser," said Andre Vrignaud, head of mixed reality platform strategy at Mozilla.

Then, what capabilities does Firefox Reality have? Some features include web search using voice commands, although text input still exists. With Firefox Reality you can choose to search using the microphone on your headset.

Available content is also new content. From the moment you open the browser, you will be presented with a deep experience that can be enjoyed on VR headsets directly from the Firefox Reality browser.

"We are working with content creators around the world to bring a collection of games, videos, environments, and amazing experiences that can be accessed directly from the main screen," Mozilla said.

This application is also a new dimension of Firefox. Firefox uses a new quantum engine for mobile browsers. The result is smooth and fast performance that is very important for VR browsers.

Mozilla admitted that he was very concerned about privacy and transparency very seriously in building this. "As a company, we are dedicated to fighting for your privacy rights on the web. Our values have guided us through this manufacturing process, just as we do with every product we build," Mozilla said.

Mozilla released this application just the first step. This is version 1.0 of Firefox Reality, and has been prepared version 1.1, with a myriad of lists of ideas and features that will continue to be added to later versions.
