Google officially announced the replacement of RED YouTube services into two new streaming service offerings, namely YouTube Music and Youtube Premium. Customers who want to get YouTube Music can only spend $ 9.99 or Rp140 thousand per month and YouTube Premium is priced at USD11.99 or about Rp170 thousand per month.
The difference is, for YouTube Music it still shows a few ads when customers want to listen to music or watch streaming videos. Meanwhile, for YouTube Premium will provide music video services without ads.
Reporting from The Verge, Friday (05/18/2018), YouTube Music is Google's attempt to rival Spotify, with the appearance of the "latest mobile application" and a new desktop player. Both are designed specifically for music.
Google argues, the advantage of YouTube is being able to combine all original song versions with thousands of playlist accesses ranging from remixes, covers, live broadcast versions, and of course, video clips.
Currently, Google's artificial intelligence (AI) is also being integrated into YouTube Music. Later, this application will find songs either with lyrics or just general descriptions such as "whistling."
The new look of YouTube Music comes with a more dynamic application main screen. There, users can view songs based on the history of the song that is often played, the location and activity of the listener.
Travelers who like to take a plane might be able to get a choice of songs such as musician Brian Eno at the airport. However, Google also stressed that it would provide a variety of song playlists, which would also be used to suggest and display new music for its users.
In terms of price, YouTube Music will be a competitor for all existing music streaming platforms. With affordable costs, listeners can listen to songs with different experiences.
While YouTube Premium gives you more experience than YouTube Music. You will get access to more original YouTube video content collections. Google promised, would provide more drama series to the original films on YouTube Premium to its customers.
YouTube Premium is a new name for YouTube Red, and Google does something good for existing Red customers by not asking them to pay a new higher price.
In countries that use Red, customers only need to pay USD9.99 before YouTube Premium is launched. The countries that immediately get YouTube Premium services are the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico and South Korea.
Next the launch of YouTube Premium will also be present in Austria, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Google ensures additional expansion will come in late 2018.
YouTube Music began launching on Tuesday, May 22 2018. A special addition will be given to customers in South Korea, Google offers YouTube Premium services for USD9.99.
Meanwhile, other countries mentioned above will also get YouTube Music in the coming weeks.
