Shortly after it was rumored that Facebook Messenger can be used to send SMS, instant messaging services today announced it has changed the display interface.
KompasTekno summarized from TechCrunch, Friday (06/17/2016), three new section is added below the chat list Last Messenger in the main view, the Favorites, Birthdays, and Active Now.
Favorites lists contact most often send messages to the user, while the Active Now show a list of contacts that are online.
The Birthday has a function as the name implies, the show anyone in the user's contact has a birthday on that day.
All new section can be accessed by pressing the icon "Home" a new (form of house) located on the left icon Calls, Groups, People, and Me, in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen.
"With this update, we want to make simpler Messenger used to provide more relevant information," Facebook wrote in a posting announcements.
Messenger now has 900 million active users, the second largest behind WhatsApp which is also owned by Facebook.
Facebook recently aggressively experimenting with ways to improve Messenger.
In addition to a new look and SMS capabilities, recently Facebook also provides a number of new emoji.
