Causes Computer and Laptop New Behavior in the Market

Instead of helping mendongrak marketing figure PC (desktop and laptop), free upgrade program for Windows 10 launched by Microsoft would produce the opposite effect.

At least that's according to the market research institute IDC predicts that the rate of PC shipments will decline by 7.3 percent year-on-year this year.

As summarized KompasTekno of The Inquirer, Monday (06/12/2016), in addition to the condition of the market, IDC said the program free upgrade to Windows 10 as one of the factors that hinder the sale of a new PC.

"The financial pressures on consumers in various regions, as well as the existence of alternatives such as delaying the purchase of a PC using Windows 10 upgrade for free or rely more on another device, PC shipments continued to press for home users," IDC wrote in its report.

Microsoft is keen to encourage users of Windows 7 and 8.1 in order to perform a free upgrade to Windows 10. So far the new OS has been installed on over 300 million devices.

However, as mentioned above IDC, the users became reluctant to renew his PC because it could still feels "new" by performing an old PC to Windows 10.

Free upgrade Windows 10 did not last forever. After July 29, the users who want to upgrade will cost Rp 1.5 million.

In addition to the update of Windows 10, IDC also noted that the PC market -especially LAPTOP increasingly threatened by the popularity of tablet devices to a hybrid with a keyboard that can be removable.
