EU Parliament Policy Apply Single Mobile Charger

EU Parliament approves legislation regulating the use of a single charger on all mobile devices . The policy requires all cell phones in Europe using the same port , the microUSB .

Member countries of the European Union have two years to implement this policy . While the manufacturers have one year longer to implement .

The EU decision is approved on a vote being pushed by German socialist MEP and Barbara Weiler . A total of 550 MPs agreed while the other eight abstained .

The use of this single charger will reduce the intervention between radio frequency devices and elements . This charger reduces the use of 51 thousand tons of electronic waste every year . Besides these new regulations are expected to save 300 million euros per year and reduce electronic waste and paper .

Some electronics manufacturers have actually practiced shaped microUSB charger . While Apple still reluctant to implement it . Therefore , the authority of the European Union gives the option to add an external adapter for the iPhone instead.

In addition to reducing electronic waste , the presence of a universal charger would also facilitate mobile users . Especially when users suddenly run out of battery when outside the home .

But a critic warned , these rules will cause a single charger red tape for businesses in this industry . UKIP deputy leader Paul Nuttall calls this move as a setback that would inhibit innovation .

" The alternative is allowing the diversity of UKIP to progress and let consumers choose not legislators to decide , " he said .
