Intel Introduces 8 - Core Desktop Processor First

Although the latter were busy developing processors for mobile devices , Intel apparently has not forgotten the traditional PC users . At the Game Developers Conference on Thursday ( 20/03/2014 ) , the chip manufacturer introduced the Core - i7 processor Extreme Edition 4th generation equipped with eight cores ( 16 threads ) .

As reported by ArsTechnica , Core - i7 Extreme Edition 4th generation intended for power users and is the first desktop -class CPUs from Intel which has eight processing cores . This processor architecture is built on the basis of " Haswell - E " .

In addition to the core " octa - core " Core - i7 Extreme Edition 4th generation also support DDR4 memory usage types that offer higher data transfer speeds and lower power consumption than DDR3 technology .

Core - i7 Extreme Edition 4th generation plan will be paired with a new high-end motherboard which carries the X99 chipset . Core - i7 Extreme Edition 4th generation itself is planned to be released in the second half of 2014.

In addition , Intel also introduced the Pentium processor with Haswell -based core that comes with an open multiplier multiplier aka speed . Users can increase the frequency easily through overclocking techniques .

This processor was introduced at the same time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the name " Pentium " that was used Intel processors for high-end brand before being replaced by artificial new name , Core , nearly a decade ago .
